Connection failed. I can’t activate network connection.

I had it wired to my pc when it was windows and it worked. Installed Debian and now it’s not working anymore.

Debian didn't automatically detect your network card. Instead of Debian and try Ubuntu server

Debian sucks balls, network connection issues every time. Ubuntu is usually better.

Did you have to create/login w/ an account to use Ubuntu?

You don't need an account to download a disk image, & I think you can turn off the password protected login after boot, if that's what you mean.

Debian packages are usually stable and well tested versions, but also older ones. It depends a lot on your hardware.

If you are new to Linux, I suggest you try distributions more focused on new users, typically Ubuntu, which is also the one you will find more documentation and community.

Debian doesn't suck, but it needs more Linux experience and you will find more compatibility issues.

Yeah never used it before. Going to try Ubuntu server for now since I don’t know how to troubleshoot very well.

I found a website that had network connection trouble shooting and did some of them. But no luck.

Did you have your Ethernet cable plugged in when you booted from USB?

I've never done a Debian install but it happened to me on an Ubuntu server install.

It was easier to reinstall than try to manually configure the network port.

Yeah I left it in during install.
