Recently it dawned on me how fascinating the intersection of Buddhism and Bitcoin is. I’ve been practicing Buddhism since my teens. ‘Practicing bitcoin’ for a while now I can’t help but start to notice. I’ll be sharing these connections here on NOSTR - it feels like the right place.

My thought this morning - riding out the stormy waves of price & politics reminds me of sitting through long retreats feeling like I’m holding on for dear life through the (often illusory) difficulties.

HODLing = meditation

My uncle gave me a copy of “zen in the art of archery” and I didn’t stop reading till I finally went to live in a Zen monastery for a bit after college. I also was raised catholic and around the time I got that book, I had recently told my mom I am not going to church anymore 😱. (She forced me to go up until confirmation 🤢)

There's a Keanu Reeves movie where he plays Siddhartha and a scene where he sits beneath the Bodhi tree to meditate until enlightenment.

There are a series of demons who appear to try to sway him with fear, lust, ect. He stays through all of it.

I've often thought about turning that scene into a bitcoin hodling meme, but I don't have the editing skills to make it happen (yet).

Yes! Exactly! In the movie/story he’s enlightened and the struggle is over. But in reality it’s a daily grind - Mara is always coming up with fresh schemes
