Self-custodial zapping works well with Alby Hub running on my home server and even moved my wife over as a subaccount without issues. Alby sunsetting their custodial wallet solution was the last push I needed to run my own node. Nice work, nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm ! nostr:note1jfdyun82x0cjx7q2ls9w69xutlyla9hmqq5jgn2mguxu78sk2yrqw34ck5

Is this a set up where you don’t need to manage your own channels?

You do need to manage your own channels, but the management can be minimal. The default options give you about 1 million sats of inbound liquidity in a single channel. Most users won't need more than this, but the options for more advanced management are there.

With the self-custodial setup you need your own channel, Alby Hub provides integrates service providers to easily get your channel.

It's part of the onboarding and a one-click process, but has some upfront costs.

Don't be scared of managing your own channels. With typical usage you once get a channel to connect to the network and then it's on and works.

yeah, happy to hear that! let us know how it goes and what we need to improve!

Are you using built-in LDK backend (default) or something else?

I've been thinking about the same setup for nostr zaps. Can you generate a LN address through alby hub if self hosted?

You can use the getalby.com lightning address. just hook up your alby hub to an alby account. Works well with the LN address, the extension, etc.
