We are working to heal our son’s histamine intolerance, food allergies, and eczema.
Although there are probably aspects I’m unaware of, I believe that a lot of these issues find their root in the gut.
To do this, we are intuitively following a GAPS-style protocol, along with supportive herbs (like nettle and Quercetin), homeopathy (histaminum), and as a last ditch resort OTC Loratadine if needed (rarely needed).
Today we reintroduced a small amount (half an ice cube) of homemade low histamine meat stock. This was made with a local pastured whole chicken, chicken feet, raw ACV, sea salt, and spring water. My husband cooked it all from frozen in the instant pot so that not a lot of histamine would build up.
Our son already flared up with a small bit of eczema on his face, but that is okay, he recovers easily these days. A bit of Quercetin and Histaminum does the trick.
Little by little we will gradually increase the dose, remembering that slow and steady wins the race.
The purpose of the homemade meat stock, is that it will strengthen his gut lining. All of the issues he’s facing, can often be found in a weak gut lining - food particles pass through where they should be contained by the lining, and the immune system attacks.
Here’s to healing, God willing. He is already doing much better than he used to, and we’re just on a steady trend up.
I am thankful to God, my husband, and all the info that is available out there to dig through. This has all been such a needed support.
Any advice or prayers are appreciated.
