It used to be a prerequisit that to vote you had to own land. The idea was that you had a stake in the way things turned out, so you had a say.

What about, instead, you only get to vote if you have kids? You've got a solid stake in the future.

Don't shoot me down here, please. Like I said, I don't approve of democracy, so I'd never advocate for this. But, is there any fairness to the argument (medical conditions excepted)?
