And keep in mind I'm just spitbaling here. I don't like democracy, especially not at the nation state level, however, since it's not going anywhere fast, I wonder...
It used to be a prerequisit that to vote you had to own land. The idea was that you had a stake in the way things turned out, so you had a say.
What about, instead, you only get to vote if you have kids? You've got a solid stake in the future.
Don't shoot me down here, please. Like I said, I don't approve of democracy, so I'd never advocate for this. But, is there any fairness to the argument (medical conditions excepted)?

To your first point. Sure. Sometimes shit happens. Good preparation and goals can usually sort that out. But shit happens and I get it.
To your second point. No... Absolutely not. The only shortage we have is energy. The only reason is political. We have no shortage of energy. We have a shortage of will.
Yes! Preparation is necessary. Both educationally and financially. Unfortunately some people make children and aren't though.

True, sometimes I have to stop myself getting into arguments and fights when I see little kids calling for mammy and daddy, and mammy and daddy totally ignoring the child,child in despair, while they looking to the phone. Is quite heartbreaking....
