Basically, companies skip the middleman and spend their ad budget by zapping their customers directly. Like airline miles, but universally valuable because it's #Bitcoin.

Potentially, but more like "click this link to our shop page and collect xxx sats", or "1% cash back on blabla product till end of week". User getting paid BY advertising, not FOR advertising.
It's more like: Hi nostr:npub1zjmgexq3hvn99cfyth34ljnlrkr0uhvy8q4ej540fwj0p90yc6lqw5ytc0 I created a cool meme, which tells a cool story about buying books at aprycot.
If the people/aprycot likes the meme, aprycot can just zap the note to boost it, and get more visibility for the note itself and similarly to their own brand.

Does it depend on which wallet is used to make that happen and show Zaps ⚡️ ?
As a company, you can zap a post/note. It will be displayed very well in the thread or other "gallery's" Like zaplife.lol
Ok my link didn't work but Zap someone and post a link of your company or what you want to promote in the comment sections on the clients that let you do that. (Most of them do) Then this shows up as a zap and the link in the notifications of people you zap 😊
Hence company's can get their website/product on a lot of people's feeds.
