Haven’t looked in a while but for designing I haven’t seen any better products than apples. The displays are too good. Plus windows has always sucked. I like Mac OS.
Probably cannot go back. A sucker for life 😂

Fren... Windows is fine but what does your OS have to do with designing? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I'm not a designer, but I've designed a fair bit of stuff for myself and I don't really know how os applies to that process. As far as displays go, I'm not sure what you see in them. There are far better options for cheaper prices all over the market.
I can help you with windows stuff if you'd like. Just let me know if you have any questions. 🤝 🫂
2 separate statements. I don’t like windows. And I like Apple displays.
Have not tried any display that matched Apple but it’s been a while, maybe something is a good contender now. Any recommendations?
Need to know:
Preferred screen size?
Budget?
I assume you would trade off frame rate for color accuracy correct?
27 inch min
Highest display quality in both colors and build
Don’t need 144 hz
I hear the dell ultra sharp models use the same panels
ASUS ProArt Display PA279CV 27” 4K HDR UHD (3840 x 2160) Monitor, IPS, 100% sRGB/Rec. 709, ΔE < 2, USB-C DisplayPort HDMI USB hub, Calman Verified, Compatible With Laptop & Mac Monitor,BLACK https://a.co/d/avxfJcO
Perhaps a good pick. Budget makes a big difference though. The dell ultra sharps are good bang for buck too. But you can go as high as multiple thousands of dollars for something that's OLED.
Friendly reminder that as far as desktop os goes, there is not a duality.
Linux would like to enter this chat...🐧
Been a while since I tried Linux but my last experience was not great.
It depends on what you tried and for what purpose.
For first experience users, Ubuntu, ElementaryOS or Mint are pretty good distro, eyecandy too.
If you want to try something more controlling, Arch, Fedora, openSUSE are great alternatives.
I concur for the most part. Windows has always sucked but macOS is headed in that direction. I think it’s the need to add bells and whistles every year even though no one is saying I’ll pay $x for that. Just open up APIs for that shit. The market works if you let it.
Welcome to the club. I have a windows machine and an M1 Max,
And damn is it so superior in every way. Only downside is that some games aren’t built for the Mac
Sadly I agree with u.. nothing beats the Mac for me 😩.
Screen, os, and some software too. Although, most of my stack are web apps now.
