I did this once when I tried to return a shirt to Marshall’s. It was only around $10.00, but I wore it once, and it broke. I wanted to find the same shirt, but they didn’t have it. I would have happily accepted a store credit, but they refused to give me one. At that point, it was about the principle—your shirt shouldn’t break after just one wear. The least they could do was offer store credit.
