Build algorithms around delete requests. Shame the network into responsibility.
You can delete posts until a relay operator just says, nah. And you can't control where your notes end up.
Does that mean 'draft' notes, too?
The Nostur app straight up has an “undelete” button that shows up where someone deleted a post. lol
GM ☕️👨💻💜. Good call on not releasing it. Of course, with Nostr being Nostr, some script kiddie will probably release a bot that scans relays for kind 05 events and associated a/e tags, then republishes them... If they haven’t already with such a low-hanging fruit.
Unfortunately, this is part of the game on Nostr, given how deletion works and how many relays choose not to honour deletion requests. People should be aware of it. That said, I still delete (and edit) messages like crazy, mostly to clean up after myself so folks don’t have to endure my rants and typos. 🤣
Okay, but now I’m low-key curious what kind of spicy notes people tried to delete. 👀 Still, respect for not releasing it some secrets are better left in the drafts!

In the long run when people are not relying on a static set of relays anymore and people are publishing to smaller relays then delete will be much more reliable (unless you're being specifically targeted) because it will be too costly to do what you're doing.
It will never be costly to track a small minority of messages
I imagine most of them are probably typos or editing mistakes, the only times I’ve tried to delete a note is when I made a typo or forgot to upload my image or something lol

Good to know! I generally just fix typos 😉 it would be cool to see some of the spicer content or funny typos perhaps with identifying info removed.
