That doesn’t sound so bad. I wouldn’t mind if Damus (to pick one client) had that view.

The current ‘For You’ tab in Twitter is a hellscape. Fortunately, algorithms are only really scary/concerning in a centralized platform IMO. The natural competition between clients should keep everyone focused on pleasing the user base.

Pleasing the user base doesn't prevent you from pushing an agenda. We need 100% transparency about all aspects of the algorithm and its parameters.

OK, I’m being slightly facetious. In reality you’ll get transparency because if you’re not getting it, you’ll move to a client that provides it.

And that's what I love about nostr. I'm currently using 5 clients very much interchangeably and if I had the slightest suspicion one of them was trying to do shady stuff, I'd stop using it and be loud about it. 🤙
