Jesus is God. He isn't made by God. We aren't chose because we are good enough. We are chosen

"All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being." (John 1:3)

We aren't chose because we are good enough. We are chosen because God cares for us and because He wants to demonstrate His mercy.

"as it is written, “T here is none righteous , not even one" (Romans 9:10)

"20On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? 22What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? 23And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, 24even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles." (Romans 9:20-24)

Be careful. We must get who God is from His word and not from our own "wisdom".

"He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good." (Proverbs 19:8)

"We are chosen because God cares for us and because He wants to demonstrate His mercy."

> This may be true from an eternal perspective, but it is important to avoid complacency. How do you really know you are one of the chosen? There are lots of people who go to church and parrot words from a book who turn around and do or support terrible things.

"He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good." (Proverbs 19:8)

> These two things are not mutually exclusive and I would caution you against assuming that seeking wisdom is selfish. Doing good is not just good for you, it's good for everyone. And that's wisdom.

I agree 100% that there are many who attend church who aren't Christians.

I don't think seeking wisdom is selfish. I think we are called to seek wisdom. I'm not sure why you think that I think it is selfish. My point was seeking wisdom in yourself leads you astray. We should seek it from God and from the Bible.

Fair enough 👌

there are many called but few are chosen. Matt 22:14

Angels have had many duties, and will be delivering a smashing at the end of the age. Those chosen will be sealed and will suffer, even to death, but will be taken up before the destruction ends. Rev 7:2-3 Rev 2:10

Yes, but the real question is how do you know and ensure you are chosen?
