Spanish English Portuguese
Is it easy to learn Portuguese if you speak Spanish?
I would say yes. Spanish, Portuguese and Italian are very similar. Each based on old Latin.
Thanks
I should start them both then
More or less, in my case speaking Catalan as mother language, Castillian(aka Spanish) by legal imperative, French by studying at school and English by curiosity, I'm able to understand quite well Portuguese.
But there cases of Spaniards who are unable to understand a single phrase in other languages
I’ll put it this way.
If you speak Portuguese you will speak and understand Spanish easily.
If you speak Spanish, you need to have a born aptitude for languages to learn Portuguese and sometimes even understand it.
Portuguese is a very clean accent language, while Spanish has a strong accent and hidden vocals.
The spanish struggle with the Clean accent , while Portuguese can easily understand it and apply it if needed.
I’m Portuguese by the way.
Oh I see
Northern Portuguese accents are essier to understand for Spaniards if they really want to understand, not always the case unfortunately.
True. Portuguese are more willing to change their language to Spanish to facilitate.
The Spanish people normally don’t even try to understand it.
Pero aqui lo seguimos hablando ingles. E asi todos nos entendiemos. Se no #[2] no buscaria nadia do que lo estamos deciendo.
