Even worse

Yep and taxation is theft. No matter what side of an imaginary line people are living.

How do you propose we pay for joint resources? Should they be payed via tolls (ie. roads, street lights, sewage system, electrical grid)?

There is no painless way. If you want to bring manufacturing back to US there will be short-term pain.

The inputs still not American. Products are too complex for 100% single country origin. Just free trade and stop being gay.

Just depends on the products. And I realize you are in Canada. Hate it had to come to this for other countries.

what's the long term gain you see here? are I assuming a reduction of the income tax, manufacturing coming back to the US over time? reducing or eliminating the income tax has been mostly talk so I'm hesitate to think it will happen, especially with such high national debt. he also could have waited on tariffs till he made more substantial moves in income tax legislation. and yes maybe we will see an increase in manufacturing but that will take years. did you have other ideas I'm not considering?

A return to 1870-1913 America. Incredible prosperity, innovation, a thriving middle class. Will it look exactly the same? No. It will be different, but it will be a new renaissance. Bitcoin will be a big part of it. Will it take time? Yes.

The idea of eliminating the IRS for an ERS is very attractive. But as long as the money printer, digital and physical, exists our Fiat wealth will be front run every time.

it's just sales tax with more steps that only apply to foreign goods

but that on the long run since it removes competition also ends up causing higher local prices for local goods

even more if you tax inputs for local production that cannot be sourced locally

and American food specifically is so much worse as well. take prego sauce vs Canada's Rao; prego has so much more sugar and garbage compared to Roa. Americans are going to pick the unhealthier option for the price. even if RFK is able to fix a lot of that, it won't be overnight

both are still trash tho xD

just that one is trashier

Yeah but we’re eliminating the income tax

Hope so, or you just paying more everything

yea I think that's been all talk so far from what I understand.

Canada owes the US way too much. Tariffs are the right way.

no one owes anyone anything
