No, I stopped that a long time ago. But sometimes I do something nice for myself. A Trip or a restaurant. Or something I like at the moment. Sometimes I just go for a walk in the woods... Nothing I call celebrate...
Yes. Modern life has taken far too much of the traditional celebrations already. And corporatized them into hollow shells of what they were. Your birthday is one thing that you can celebrate however you want where there is not a corporate overwhelming energy. So for my birthdays, I typically get all my friends to go Swimming. We’ll jump off a dock into the ocean or go into a cold river and have a backyard barbecue afterwards.
Is the time for us to all celebrate the joy of being alive while getting our adrenaline up.
Rituals have value.
We do, just when it's convenient for everyone else, so that they can join in. I'm born on the 7th of October, but sometimes I'll wait til Halloween to make it a fun celebration🎃👻🍫🍬
I am alone this year after 16 years of relashionships and am quite happy to let it slide by without notice. I’ll be 50 OMG!! who wants to celebrate getting that old
