* scientists need to pay to get access to this papers
the elsevier system is a massive scam.
How else would you expect them to monitize your without having a profile on you?
I agree, the other day I had to create an account to post a comment and ask a question on a website, just to get 5 spams email in the following 7 days. Hopefully I used a single use alias that I could nuke.
