People post stuff intended to enrich others on Nostr.

On other platforms, posts are crafted to extract from others and to enrich themselves.

For me, the lower number of users and engagement is not of concern because there’s no value unless it’s genuine.

Be generous with likes, if not zaps.

It’s that go first, pay it forward, do it because you love it, without permission attitude that is keeping my attention here.

the monetization of social media … maybe for some people it’s just fun, like if they have the energy, extroversion, and creativity/expressiveness.

I’m sure it started out as people having fun. It has certainly evolved into other things now.

I’m not enamoured with the attention seeing elements but I do enjoy engaging and sharing.

Artists and others have grown professional relationships with social media.

It looked very promising for a time but as platforms captured the content in these realms. The monetization models got exploited and incentives have shifted the nature of most content.

I see Nostr as a solution in this problem. So here we are 😀

yeah it can feel unbalanced. Although nostr can feel unbalanced in other ways also.

generally, good to have a non-monetized alternative, where an awareness and understanding of the money system is also prominent.

a lot of visual social media posts can be very - look at all these things / doing all these things - and acting like there is no money involved.
