I have never read that book but one of my favorites is Positive Discipline. Less about punishing more about supporting & finding solutions.

You kids won't like that once they hit puberty. Hold them while you can!

As a parent of 5 teenagers I find I want more time with them than they want with me, but the few times they do need me are very impactful.

I stand ready to help if they need, but at a far enough distance so they can be sovereign individuals (which takes effort not to be closer)
