Being tugged on by forces you are aware of is different than unwitting influence and steering.

I am aware that gravity seeks to pull me down into a lifeless puddle, so I exercise and stand upright so that I can walk regardless of its tugging.

Agreed, there are forces and influences outside of your control, but all the more reason to build walls and deepen your own abilities. (

Agreed.

Sometimes the best defence is a strong offence. Nobody likes politics but the psychopaths have gotten hold of the reigns. I do believe we're in the 4th turning. I mean, if you look at what's happening in the world compared to what's being built here, seems clear that we're leaving an old order behind and creating something new. People's ability to innovate and adapt is amazing. But that future is fragile.

It can still go very authoritarian, which in my mind, is a good reason to pay attention.

That being said, I was on the IDGAF bad wagon but Jason Lowery's book, Soft War, really did change my mind. Power projection in all its forms are relevant.
