I think people kinda let BitVM go by without realizing the impact that this could make on #Bitcoin ’s path. The very same thing that enables inscriptions, might be able to give us a *real* two-way peg - essentially the holy grail of sidechain scaling.

BitVM allows for essentially *any* code to enforce ownership of a BTC balance. It doesn’t seem this is properly being factored into scaling discussions.

Yeh it’s potentially game changing. A trustless two way peg fixes so many of bitcoins technical limitations.

Inscriptions could be used for proving miner readiness for upgrades, as an improvement over simply signalling readiness

This is a great example of why we should not dismiss new technology so quickly.

Here for it tbf

I don't know enough about BitVM to form any opinions. Do you have any good resources? Thanks.

The key point is "arbitrary data storage" and the "data" in question would be yet another retarded, and redundant bytecode (isn't java and BPF enough for you morons?).

Honestly, I'm an old school BASIC and M68k Assembler programmer and I have not seen anything except Go that actually gives you that low level power without the low level cost.

Programmers are mosly retarded. They don't even understand binary logic very well, they want their expensive to implement variants, objects and generics, because they are too lazy to copy and paste and have no imagination that maybe sometimes you can get a result and an error at the same time.

Well done Guy you’re the first I’ve read to ask “what else?”

I don’t care for ordinals/inscriptions and I’m not technical enough to fully understand what’s going on there but I am creative enough to have been wondering “when’s the next use case going to evolve?”

What… we got to JPEGs and then just stopped? 🤣 i don’t believe it

Sidechains, what consensus mechanism? Proof of stake is an ouruboros. Has to be a cross chain pegged BTC stake or it's a joke.

There was a lot of excitement in the Spaces when it was announced for this very topic. Unfortunately, until they have something at market people are simply remaining cautiously optimistic due to previous hype surrounding other L2 scaling solutions that haven't hit the mark, been slow to develop, etc.
