In all of my visits, I've rarely had anything but the unsupported arm method which leads to the most inaccurate readings. Anyone want to guess how many millions of people have been put on unnecessary drugs because of this?

"A study led by researchers at Johns Hopkins Medicine reveals that the way a patient’s arm is positioned during routine blood pressure (BP) screenings can lead to significant overestimation of results, potentially contributing to the misdiagnosis of hypertension."

Too many! And rarely do you get a standing and sitting BP for comparison either.

As someone who takes multiple BPs/day with a stethoscope, I find that the cuff rotation is equally as important, if not more so.

Interesting. How so? Like the velcro clasp should be at a specific area on the bicep?

Rotate the cuff laterally and it is misappropriating pressure read by the barometer. Think of the mechanics of the measurement. There’s a reason they put the little *artery here* sign at one point in the cuff.

Good to know.
