I really want to run Graphene OS again. However, not having access to Google Wallet for NFC payments is a no go for me. I just ran to my local gas station to fill up my car and my wife's car. They're running a special for Independence Day. Gas is only $1.776 per gallon 😱 I didn't bring my wallet. I just brought my phone. Dammit Google.

It's a hell of a sale that's for sure. They're losing money today. The network effect is wild though. Competing gas stations in the area are matching the prices, otherwise no one would go to their gas station today.
They don't make much of anything on gas to start with. Local owner told me ~.01-.03
They make their money off stuff inside. Be interesting to see how the finances of drawing in this many customers falls out.
Almost no one is going in stores though. The lines are nuts. All day non stop entire parking lots full, backed up onto roads. I could understand gas being close to a loss leader on normal days, but almost no one wants to wait in a gas line for 10+ minutes then go into a convenience store.
Sheetz is like the brand of choice around here, its worth a little hit to keep their image.

I’m stubborn to get rid of my iphone, but I’m getting used to having another phone just for pricate stuff, graphene it is.
For me privacy and security is more important. Besides my card is always with me, but I prefer always cash.
Work around: buy prepaid, go into the station and tell them how much you want to put in. It'll pull that amount from the card.
Using NFC at the pump puts an automatic $100 hold on the card until after servicing.
