Thinking of signing up with Casa. Anyone have experience with them?

I figure I can set up a multisig myself, but having a little extra insurance from a reliable 3rd party would be nice peace of mind

I started with Casa, and I did like them. But I moved to Nunchuk's collaborative custody for reasons I've forgotten. I think Unchained also has a similar product.

Something I didn't realize until just now: is it possible to initiate transactions and fully sign them _without_ Casa's involvement? (Say their service is temporarily offline).

Did you have any experience with using your two keys without involving Casa's key? How cumbersome is that workflow?

Yes, they provide instructions for how to do that. You basically import the wallet into Sparrow wallet on desktop and connect your keys to it. It's more involved than that, so you should practice doing it.

Thanks!

I’ve had great experience with Unchained. They’re bitcoin only, unlike Casa.

It depends on your situation. Are you married? Is your spouse technical? Can you do a self-sovereign recovery?

I would start with a small amount, like 100k sats. I like Flaxman's guide, but it's a bit outdated.

This guide is new to me - thanks!

Been using casa for sometime. No major issues, but thinking of moving to bitkey. Simpler setup and doesn’t rely on email or using pc software.

Yea I have since decided against solutions that rely on a hosted / 3rd party component.

Maybe when I have to think about inheritance it'll be a different story.

I think my wife and kids will suddenly be highly motivated to watch a few BTC Sessions vids if I kick the bucket unexpectedly.
