Cashu is not an alternative to non-custodial Bitcoin. Nothing beats holding your own keys.

Cashu Ecash is for custodial systems that respect user privacy, have better censorship resistance, and allow half-offline peer-to-peer payments that are instant.

The days of corporate blockchains are over. They make no sense at all, they're centralized, and they are peak inefficient. Ecash beats all of that. It's fast, lightweight, and cheap. If you're running a service, you should consider integrating Ecash for your users.

There are already dozens (!!!) of mints out there, run by organizations, companies, or communities. Among these companies are custodians, wallet providers, LSPs, and online shops.

When will we see the first ecash in-game currency?

Cashu now has native mobile wallet apps, headless server wallets, web wallets that work in the browser, and wallets for social media clients. We have mint implementations in Rust, Python, Golang, and like 5 other languages.

We have tiny invisible wallets that live in web pages.

We're working on an authentication scheme that balances operator control and user privacy as best as possible. You can decide who can use your mint.

We have a dozen different open-source libraries and wallets that are improving every day.

Thank you Calle, awesome project. Lightning payments are so fast with Cashu. That surprised me. I thought they might be slow or fail sometimes, but no, paid several invoices and every one was basically instant. The UX has been great so far.

Thinking of signing up with Casa. Anyone have experience with them?

I figure I can set up a multisig myself, but having a little extra insurance from a reliable 3rd party would be nice peace of mind

Been using casa for sometime. No major issues, but thinking of moving to bitkey. Simpler setup and doesn’t rely on email or using pc software.

Slightly different approach… charge everything on Apple Card. Using Apple Pay gets you 2% back and they payout that cash back daily as Apple Cash. Transfer to Fold and buy Bitcoin with no transaction fees. Thank nostr:npub1x458tl7h9xcxa66vr4a8pg0h2qz96pnhwnfpcra0le9090uk5t5qw7armt for this one.

Good idea. I am doing similar but with river. There is a transaction fee, but I am ok with it. I guess I should try strike, but trying to keep things simple.

That's not an acceptable bug. Send max should subtract the fee from the max amount (that's the whole point of a send max button).

It also seems that I can't swap from liquid back to bitcoin to bump the fee. For some reason the confirm button won't confirm the swap.

It is showing my bitcoin balance as zero, as though it has already broadcast it to the network, & is asking me to bump the fee. This is retarded.

I have 928 sats stuck in aqua for that reason. Moved to cashu as my lightning wallet. Fees seemed high in Aqua.

So when a bank loans money, it is essentially created from nothing as an entry in a database.

But the interest owed is not created. So the interest on the debt must be obtained via new debt (not necessarily by the borrower).

So, it seems lower interest rates would lessen the need for growth (more loans).

But lower interest rates generally result in increased demand for loans (so more growth).
