About 6 to 8 months ago, my co-workers and I made predictions about the price of bitcoin at the end of the year. Prices ranged from -100 dollars ( a non-believer ), $67K, $80K, $102K and mine at $103K ( just because I wanted to be the most bullish and following The Price is Right rules ). When bitcoin approached and passed $100K I thought I may win this, but bitcoin did what bitcoin does and had other plans. We're quite a ways away from $103K, but I'm going to stick with it. I say $103K at midnight. What time zone are you using? I'm in PST.
Love this! We’ll use UCT
It's funny. Many of us still value bitcoin in dollars. I was thinking about this earlier this morning when I should have been sleeping. As the dollar continues to plunge in value, $1M bitcoin may not be that much especially if it costs $100 or even $1K to buy a dozen eggs. I propose we price bitcoin in eggs, since that seems like a better proof-of-work standard. How much bitcoin would it take to buy a million eggs, a billion eggs? That would give us a framework for where we stand in the true economy. When would I decide I had enough eggs and was ready to retire, 1 million eggs, 10 million eggs, a billion eggs? Based on this website ( https://fredblog.stlouisfed.org/2022/06/buying-eggs-with-bitcoins/ ) it looks like a dozen eggs would cost about 4000 satoshis, so price per egg is 333 satoshis. You could buy a million eggs for just over 3 BTC. Is that enough to retire? Will I get tired of eating eggs? So many questions to consider.
