Good morning nostr, and happy friday. Today i need to do some catching up around the house, and we might venture out to the resale shop. But fridays at the shop have been so crowded lately, we might wait till tomorrow.

Yesterday i was going around the different beds, cutting off green stuff for the chickens to eat. I have lots of green onions right now, i think these are known as multiplying onions. Anyway, i can harvest these just about year round, and i love them. I have such an abundance that i cut a handful for the chickens, and they went nuts for them. Now i know. Anyway, yall have a great friday, enjoy your coffee, and remember that today is a gift. #coffeechain #grownostr #homesteading #chickens

At a gardening conference....

Sounds fun😊

Are they similar to walking onions? I finally planted some last year and I love them!

Yes, i think some folks call them walking onions.

Walking onion = Egyptian Walking Onion. The bulbs grow at the top tips of the greens in a cluster.

Same thing as multiplying onions?

I’ve not heard that name but possibly. I’d have to see a pic.

I’m referring to Allium x proliferum

Multiplying onions can also be known as welsh onions which is different than Egyptian onions. I have both, I also have perennial Japanese onions, they multiply too.

I do see tiny bulbs on top, certain times of year.
