This is why I think that the prevalence of #Bitcoin tech bro discourse over here is so harmful, as creates the apparent and false idea that the only way to think and talk about economies over here is from the point of view of the artificial scarcity in Bitcoin alike blockchains, while ignoring its ecological costs and damages.

Huh? What the fuck are you even talking about? The ecological cost of #bitcoin as a global reserve asset is infinitesimally small relative to the ecological impact of the existing inefficient, unfair and ancient financial tech network. The gains of seeding our civilisation with a proof of work money is obvious to anyone willing undertake the analysis with intellectual honesty.

Nostr is great. Bitcoin is great. Both will thrive from the forest floor after the bushfires of the existing system burn themselves and everything else to the ground.

I understand. Doing a complete critical reading sometimes hurts. Particularly when it goes against our feelings and ideologies. I would love to read your peer reviewed contrasted and opposing literature. Mostly when personal opinions are pretty cheap in the age of noisy social media.

But this exchange illustrated my point: Nostr and Bitcoin seem so entangled that using the first to criticize the second gets a swift ideological response. That, ultimately reduces the growing of Nostr to Bitcoin adherents, making difficult transport lessons, like the one related to thinking/designing beyond artificial scarcity, that nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z was talking about at the beginning of this thread.

You can say and do whatever you want on Nostr. The onus is on you to create the community you wish to see. Not one #bitcoiner will ever fight you on your right to participate.
