I recently removed an @ in a DM to be safe
Have you considered turning DMs off by default or removing them from Damus? NIP-04 DMs are dangerous for non-technical ppl.
I think there should be a warning.
I agree but if we don’t deprecate NIP-04, the Lindy effect begins to kick in.

You dont need tags for mentions, you just need nostr:npub in the content. heck damus even just parses plain npubs these days even though thats probably evil
