What do you mean correctly? Isn't this a valid markdown?

I think it's more about it being a sneaky link disguised as a hashtag. A small icon indicating it was a link would be handy for differentiation.

True, but that is always the case with markdown (nostr blog posts have them all the time). I will see what I can do to differentiate.

That gets to the question of whether it is correct for clients to render markdown in kind 1 at all, and I tend to say it's not correct to do so.

That said, this goes back to the basic rules of the internet: Don't click on hyperlinks from people you don't trust.
