This is beautiful 🤩

Jumble renders this correctly imo

Coracle as well.

What do you mean correctly? Isn't this a valid markdown?

I think it's more about it being a sneaky link disguised as a hashtag. A small icon indicating it was a link would be handy for differentiation.

True, but that is always the case with markdown (nostr blog posts have them all the time). I will see what I can do to differentiate.

I think it needs an indication (icons work) to be clear it is hyperlink and not a hashtag or a username.

Thanks :)

What would stop someone just using the icon tho or the @ in the case of a username? i assume there must be a solution to that(?)

Wait have I got myself confused in all this paranoia lol. I think this might not make sense lolol

Fair.

That gets to the question of whether it is correct for clients to render markdown in kind 1 at all, and I tend to say it's not correct to do so.

That said, this goes back to the basic rules of the internet: Don't click on hyperlinks from people you don't trust.

Fully expected the Rickroll.

Methinks all long-form clients would be susceptible to these types of shenanigans, as well.

Perhaps yes, I don't think anyone would expect it in a microblogging format tho, so your guard is down.

Agreed.

It would be funny if someone compromised youtube and everyone who got rickrolled actually did get a payload of some sort

I was listening to this on 80s smooth DAB radio yesterday in the car 🎵
