They have their own network, I don't understand the point. They can't OFAC comply then perhaps?
Many local wallets include some form of USD, like the one used in Lugano and the El Salvador one.
I suspect this is an extension of that.
you'll still facilitate by running a lightning node though.
I think this is good for Bitcoin. Liquidity and profitability of LN will go up and when USD fails, it will be super easy for everyone just to switch to Bitcoin.
It will also be super easy for people to pay with USD and start saving in Bitcoin.
It takes time and exposure for people to understand Bitcoin. This helps with that.
