I think that, for the split to happen, you have to zap the note that will be created after you receive 10 boost.

I boosted the 2nd note, the one that quotes the first one, that's the one with the boost action.

After 10 boosts the prism will be created, a note from the Prism will be posted and you'll be notified about that note.

Next you zap that prism note.

That's it.
