The only solution I can think of is to make good apps outside of Apple and less good apps for Apple devices. Then slowly Apple users will exit as they see better things outside.
If on Apple you're forced to use a crappy slow and bloated PWA in order to zap, then let it be. The experience will soon be much better on Android.
What about side loading the unborked version for those that have a macOS device to do so? AppStore release can have big letters saying: βthis is the borked version, side-load for all the featuresβ

I think it'd be stupid af to go burn your devices in protest. That does nothing. But these signals should be warnings to folks who care about freedom and choice. We need to find better ways, and build them if they don't exist.
