I was fascinated. How else do people meet these days? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I shit post on Nostr and sometimes people like it.

๐Ÿ˜

In meat space I force people at bars to talk to me while I'm traveling. Sometimes it works out and when it doesn't it never matters that it didnt.

Sounds like an interesting angle, for extroverts and those who are confident it can work to your advantage.

I like to collect people's stories

I also chat to everyone wherever I go. Itโ€™s easier here because itโ€™s customary and polite to acknowledge the other people around you, including greeting strangers on the street.

People are pretty interesting

Community is important!

Very much so, itโ€™s being seen by those around you

I SEE YOU! Ok not really, that'd be weird. But I see you nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh ... I see you.

We have a greeting in my country that literally means โ€œI see youโ€

So yes, I see you John and Beave ๐Ÿซ‚

What country if you dont mind saying, that's interesting. I love idioms and deconstructing their meanings and looking for their roots. I was just briefly talking to nostr:npub1vdaz78d96t7pjakpfmqqlr4wgq26l6vmkf25782n05qgdgtfmk8s297rjz about this.

South Africa ๐Ÿ’œ

holy moly ! what a beautifully intimate way of saying hello. https://www.loominternational.org/sawubona/

Cool right? ๐Ÿ’œ

I love it. Eye contact is powerful. It was one of the hardest things for me about living briefly in Japan how direct eyecontact is so so rare and taboo.

Itโ€™s similar in other cultures where looking a person in the eye is seen as disrespectful

Ya, I mean I always try to "do as the romans are doing" when I travel but that was a subtle but profound one.

No clue. Hence... My likely eternal relationship status. ๐Ÿ˜…

Likely not gonna work for me.

Itโ€™s hard out there ๐Ÿซ‚

I suppose.

Iโ€™m a good wingman.

I'm a terrible lead. ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿซ‚

I think you are being too hard on yourself.
