Oracles just seem like a “creative” way for poor Bitcoiners to make a bunch of extra fiat on the folly of newcoiners.

I agree, and that is terrible for adoption. People are going to get rugged, and the line between Bitcoin and shitcoins will become even more blurry in the eyes of nocoiners
