I didn't even hear about the Twitter Files being released. That would mean I distrusted him to begin with. I said it hear. I really cannot explain it in a more self-explanatory manner.

You don’t have to trust Jack. Trust the code. I haven’t seen anyone get censored here yet. I see plenty get censored on twitter. Also, Jack has publicly talked about how his options at Twitter were to comply and censor users or lose Twitter completely and make all of his staff unemployed. If he didn’t comply, the stock would’ve tanked and then the shareholders would’ve replaced him with someone else that would end up doing the same thing anyway. Not much of a choice. Recommend you listen to Jack’s point of view. He’s publicly said that the only solution is to make a system that can’t be coerced. That’s why he’s putting his money where his mouth is investing in nostr. There is no central point that can be coerced on nostr. I think he learned a big lesson and it’s unreasonable to expect him to foresee all the censorship getting so out of control. Most Americans thought free speech would never be violated like that.

Also Jack stepped down and left Twitter because he didn’t want to keep doing that. That’s not how he wanted Twitter to be. Contrast that with mark zuckerberg who continues to comply willingly and doesn’t care. There’s more nuance with things like this.

I'm not watching this.

Then don’t but you haven’t offered any convincing reason why I should trust your opinion

If you say so. Keep in mind that you're choosijg to trust the man who voluntarily caused egregious levels of existential damage to society. All done under the order of the state. Putting your faith in the guy who gave the okay for all that carnage to commence is like putting your faith back into banks to handle your accounts responsibly.

“Voluntarily caused egregious levels of existential damage to society. “

“All done under the order of the state.”

Do you know what an oxymoron is?

I do. My mistake. But, you understand what I was getting at, right?

No I don’t. That’s an oxymoron. How can Jack voluntarily hurt society under the order of the state? State orders are always backed by a gun. That means it’s not voluntary.

That's why I said it was my mistake. It wasn't voluntary but he could've stopped whenever he wanted.

How can you stop if it’s not voluntary?

You pack the hell up and leave. He had the resources necessary, I don't doubt.

So he quits the company he started and then the shareholders put in a new CEO that will do the same thing. What did he accomplish?

The avoidance of accountability over the negative consequences of his decisions.

He’s donated millions trying to build a system that fixes the problem he faced on Twitter and you’re talking about accountability? Why are you even on nostr if it’s so horrible?

Yes, I am. And because the people I interact aren't horrible and nostr isn't just about decentralized socials🙄. Duhhh!

One question: so, you don't want to start a private simplex chat?

No we can talk perfectly fine here

Yes, for his own purposes that don't have anything to do with the best of nostr. Why in the world do you think he's a good dude now?

I have no reason to think he’s a bad dude. And he’s donated a lot to the development of nostr.

He is a bad dude, demonstrably, and has donated to those who are enthusiastically crapping on other good devs.

Evidence?

“Donated millions,” from a billionaire, who made their money as a Fed.

You really are retarded.

The Twitter Files were mentioned in the original post above.

I appreciate you adding more context from your earlier posts, but those weren’t part of this specific thread.

The good news is, none of us need to rely on Jack’s word about the protocol, we can look at the code ourselves.

Even with the added context from your previous posts, the point still stands: your interpretation of reality rests mostly on our limited understanding of the past Twitter events and on personal vibes.
