I always wonder why anyone would use lightning when liquid works just fine. The only answer I get is that it’s good to have multiple second layer solutions.
The fees for some Lightning services such as the new version of Phoenix are absurd.
0.4% for sending any payment? 😂 every day it becomes clearer to me that LN is broken and only good for centralized services that abuse fees.
I'll stick with Liquid Network (there is nothing better despite being federated) and I fully support nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 with sidechains.

The main answer is that Liquid is federated and LN is p2p and trust is minimized, but it turns out that in 2023 almost everyone uses LN in a centralized way, so in practice it is much more secure a multi-signature federation like Liquid because it also allows cold storage which LN does not.

Awesome side by side. Do the privacy benefits extend to previously kyc’d bitcoin?
