HOAs are a form of private and voluntary governance. They are interesting to observe in that context. I've found that regardless of politics most people do not like them.
They're far too easy to abuse and too hard to leave. They're voluntary in a loose sense. They can also change over time.
💯. I moved recently and no HOA was high on my priority list.
It's getting harder to find with new builds especially. But new builds in sub divisions are largely trash now too, so probably best to avoid anyway.
