I guess I have to move. Fuck. First of all, my bad, HOA. Check. Then they HOA installed fucking surveillance state cameras all over the entrances to the hood. Now, the pièce de résistance: a no parking sign in front of my fucking house that extends all the way from my house to I guess the horizon of the firmament. So we have tiny driveways and now there is no where for anyone to park. I hate this neighborhood.

You can't be the only one who feels that way. Get elected to the HOA board. Block everything. Vote to defund the thing.
I'm on enough boards run by normies to know this is a fool's errand. Unfortunately, you're wrong. People LOVE these surveillance and inconvenient conveniences. People fucking love control. The people who agree with me are so few.
Here's a fun example: My wife is on facebook to monitor the normie environment. Someone on there generated an incredibly active feed that was cosigned by so many people the HOA sent out a letter confirming their position and warning against further violations:
The violation: Throwing junk mail into the garbage bins that are market for dog shit. This was what the neighborhood was busying itself with while they installed spy cameras next to our houses.
I've never lived in a neighborhood with an HOA.
Is it the thrill of controlling others?
When _isnt_ stupid shit about people excercising control over others? People love to live in tyrannys where they get to have their own little piece of the tyrannical power. This is the platonic structure instantiated into the Karen avatar.
I live out in the country where if people aren't helping each other, they are at least staying out of the way. And when the offcials get too far out over their skis, the landowners do something about it.
At one point recently, our county commissioners were mad that so many people were moving in from California, so they limited well sizes to the point where it would be difficult to build a house. The ranchers got pissed off at that because they needed the "excess" flow for the cattle and forced the commissioners to change the policy.
That's the way things work put here.
I have designs to move to Montana in the future. My experience out west is that many people out there still remember freedom and thirst for it and will protect it with all their lives. I don't expect that spark to return to the east coast for a long long time.
That's the case in my North Texas county. The officials know what the limits are and the sheriff's dept know they are vadtly outnumbered. When the deputies come to properties (we've had one visit), they are extremely courteous. I believe in the case above, they told the commissioners that they would not go to properties to deal with well violations because it would be too dangerous.
Civilization rises and falls on water rights.
A good police force is such a positive thing. When I was growing up, we had a small police force, they actually patrolled neighborhoods and stopped to get to know people and were members of the same communities.
We bought our property primarily for its water access. Same for most of the people around us. We are on top of the Trinity aquifer. Never ending supply of clean water.
Need a good neighbor?
Always.
If you see any good buying opportunities happy to receive them in DMs and will keep them confidential.
Sure thing. Land is going for $25k/acre in my area because of the water access.
I might need to take a road trip and take a peek. Might be good to get some just in case it catches on.
It's a decent area about an hour north of DFW on I35.
there will be signs:

That's not a bad spot, especially if you want to be away from DFW. Wichita Falls has enough in it.
Funny not funny. Sorry I laughed but it so sad too.
When you the F out of there?
I’ve always wondered, in an HOA is it not the home owner that sells the house and then the buyer can reject the HOA rules?
Seems like one should be able to reject policy as the policy of an HOA is not lawful.
When one buys a home in an HOA community, is there really a forced contract between buyer and HOA? If so it seems the HOA owns the home and not the seller 🤷♂️
Yes you are forced to accept the rules or you cannot get a deed. The Declarations and Covenants of developments which contain the documents creating the HOA "run with the land" so you take the land subject to those tyrannical instruments like you would if there was any other lien on the property like a right of way or easement, etc. It is really really difficult to break up these documents. You basically have to buy all the property and then undo the documents, or get every property owner to sign off on it.
I know of a great HOA free neighborhood you can migrate too....we sought out HOA free home when we bought for this purpose.
I can't promise that one of your neighbors won't go full commie retard (with a Trump sign in his yard) though and ask Daddy government to put in street lights and increase your property taxes $90 in perpetuity though. His reaction when I said so you're the communist that screwed our street up might be worth the $90 a year...and my wife now says morning Commrade every time she sees him doing yard work. We are big believers in V4V
I can't wait to meet your wife she sounds like a gem. Waiting for the market to burn and crash and get closer to ZIRP before I consider moving.
She is amazing!!! Off to church to thank God for sending his son to earth to die for all the sins I have spread across this beautiful planet. The last thing I would want is Jesus to die in vain....hopefully a lot of living before my time on earth expires🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
It's for your safety John!
Mama says HOAs are the devil.
HOAs are a form of private and voluntary governance. They are interesting to observe in that context. I've found that regardless of politics most people do not like them.
They're far too easy to abuse and too hard to leave. They're voluntary in a loose sense. They can also change over time.
💯. I moved recently and no HOA was high on my priority list.
It's getting harder to find with new builds especially. But new builds in sub divisions are largely trash now too, so probably best to avoid anyway.
In Virginia Beach the city was putting cameras everywhere…
I think municipal courts like it so they can send people tickets in the mail
Then if u don’t pay the tickets they suspend your license or issue arrest warrants
It’s going to take hero’s going all over the country destroying the cameras at this point
Good thing we got Peter T homeboy in the whitehouse so they can roll out a palintar mass surveillance in America
Also interesting to note that 2011 was the year that both JD Vance and Jeffrey Epstein got involved with Peter theil.
Moving can be costly 😬,
maybe see this as an opportunity to be creative to find a solution,
also when you move, they win 🤔 and you gave up👀
If you don't want to move, fight with your words 😤 TRY TO CONVINCE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE😊,
(in the beginning it will be mentally tough😳🤔😳, but it's possible to change it)
Choose what you want, and go for it
💐💐💐
The hardest part is wanting to move and never move, or wanting to change it but never trying to be creative in finding solution => than you're stuck in a place that's physically + mentally draining for a lóóónng time..😵💫
Good luck with your journey.
