It's the same in Germany, but their scarcity isn't reflected in income, so recruiting is difficult.

The Electrical union pays very well even for entry level. When I started out 15 yrs ago I started out at min wage.

They are not paying enough (at least in Bavaria) and are struggling to fill apprenticeships.

We were looking this summer.

They need to add €5/hour, across the board, and a Techniker should be earning closer to engineer salaries. They're usually only getting that at the big engineering firms.

Ah! I’m in the States. €5 is quite a bit of currency loss. I know the struggles people all over the world are going through. I will note the value of the experience gained with any trade far exceeds the value of payment.
