No electrical? All trades are drastically needing youth.

HVAC is essentially an electrical job. I think my youngest is leaning towards electrical. I agree with you regarding youth and trades. Wish I’d have been encouraged to consider a trade younger in life.

Yes it does have its electrical areas. I come from 3 generations of electricians. That is one trade where you will learn a little bit about every other trade. Keep up the good work

I wished I had listened to the one person who said get a trade

Never too late to learn a trade. Yea, you may not learn all the tricks to get better efficiency but it starts with fixing your own things. Learn and build from that. Even something as scary as electric is very simple to learn and the danger can be avoided.

Me too!

It's the same in Germany, but their scarcity isn't reflected in income, so recruiting is difficult.

The Electrical union pays very well even for entry level. When I started out 15 yrs ago I started out at min wage.

They are not paying enough (at least in Bavaria) and are struggling to fill apprenticeships.

We were looking this summer.

They need to add €5/hour, across the board, and a Techniker should be earning closer to engineer salaries. They're usually only getting that at the big engineering firms.

Ah! I’m in the States. €5 is quite a bit of currency loss. I know the struggles people all over the world are going through. I will note the value of the experience gained with any trade far exceeds the value of payment.

This aspect is really odd to me. There is these huge shortages, yet the income is not as high as I would expect.

Because their customers and employers are often further away from the money printers.
