Haven’t looked it up yet, curious of the $600 spec

2.9GHz Quad-Core Intel CPU, 2TB NVMe SSD, 16GB dual-channel RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, 3 USB 3.0 ports, and an active cooling system.

I mean, I guess if you’re dipping your toes and just want plug and play?

Maybe? 🤷‍♂️

Whatever, good for them. Best of luck.

Sounds meh honestly. But nothing wrong with the business venture, definitely a good way to branch out

Fo sho

Yeah I was thinking about that option too. Would you go with Umbrel or Start9? I’m hearing good things about Start9 but already run Umbrel on a Pi

I don't use either of them so I don't have an opinion on it.

How is umbrel on a pi? Was looking into using the pi over a oldish sever.

It does fine to run a node. I don’t do anything else on it and I think that’s best practice. (Not mix Node with personal apps)

Thank you for your input i greatly appreciate it

Yeah that pricing was WOAH

I’m sure the Umbrel box has a place for some people who just want a really simple plug and play solution, but it is expensive. I recently bought a higher spec Intel NUC that was significantly cheaper and runs well as a node.

😂🤣

I looked at the start9 box closer than the umbrel. Certainly more than you need to spend on a bitcoin node. If you are wanting to run nextcloud too and want the nvme boost, the new premium VS used workstation is around $100. Unless someone sees a way I don't see.

Nope, I was wrong more like $250 2tb nvme in both.

I was gonna get an 🍊🥧 but that's a much better deal.

This is the way!

I was thinking the same, just found a 150bucks Optiplex Mini that came with 16GB RAM and 1TB Samsung Pro SSD. I'm using it for experimenting NAS solutions but in the end I could make a node out of it.
