I see more and more concierge doctors for this reason. Dealing with insurance is a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved. There is one in my area that charges $165/month and you can go im whenever and do anything short of surgery basically.

Yeah the savings from not having to deal with the red tape of insurance are passed down to the consumer. Love to see it
I have seen limited use of local co-ops (doctors/dentists and even pharmacies with subscription based services) — this is a much more realistic healthcare system than the DMV-style behemoth we have now.
