Probably raise some local beef.

I already build furniture, so I’d do more of that.

I’m a tinkerer by nature, so probably do random odd jobs in my community.

Had some issues connecting to local NAS drives and transferring files, also bluetooth connectivity seems to be finicky.

I see more and more concierge doctors for this reason. Dealing with insurance is a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved. There is one in my area that charges $165/month and you can go im whenever and do anything short of surgery basically.

Crowdhealth is good too have too in case you get hit by a car or something

I have seen limited use of local co-ops (doctors/dentists and even pharmacies with subscription based services) — this is a much more realistic healthcare system than the DMV-style behemoth we have now.

This was the health insurance renewal rates we received from our PEO for our practice in 2023. We would have paid almost $5k a month for our family to get the same level of mediocre coverage we had in 2022. Almost $60k in premiums and we still would have had copays, prescriptions and a $12k family deductible.

Instead we chose to self pay doctors’ visits, use online physicians when possible and have a catastrophic health sharing plan. Our medical costs for 2023? $7816
