Seeing some of the convos tonight shows that there are still lots of people (even on nostr) who wildly underestimate the Thanos like nature of some of our political overlords. People like Gates, Soros, Harari, and others openly want to reduce the population. They believe their efforts to do so are necessary to "save" the world, & that they are the only people "rational" enough to have those conversations & hatch those plans. They are quietly working on all fronts to grow their personal wealth while making people sick, sterile, aimless, culturally broken, unable to connect with others, & unable to perceive or acknowledge even the most basic aspects of reality. It's just the same hatred of life at the root of past fascist/socialist/communist efforts repackaged into "transhumanism" to address their own fear of death.

There’s no such thing as too many people. The idea that an outsider can subjectively evaluate lives of others as “not worthy” is absurd.

I see posts on Instagram and shit with climate fascists calling for depopulation to “save the planet” they are totally for it but don’t realize they are sowing the seams to their own demise

Free people create value & abundance. I think what most call over population tends to be the result of political controls & corrupt money.

I think most animals turn ugly and destructive when they face resource scarcity. I generally disagree with wealth distribution to undeserving parties, but corporate greed and the wealthiest 1% has created an extreme resource vacuum by compromising the balance of power between labor and overseers. What started in the 1970’s has to be reversed. In my mind, I only wonder how extreme the desperation will need to be in order to spark revolt. I think Harari is interesting, who better than a historian to point to unpleasant facts, but what the transhumanists are doing with that insight is deplorable.

Is their worldview transhumanist, though? Transhumanism isn’t inherently antihuman (except possibly on the individual scale).
Possibly I just haven’t seen enough, but in my experience, I haven’t seen transhuman-leaning people argue for reducing population or any of these measures, and they come across kind of anti-elitist.
The people you’ve named, on the other hand, don’t seem interested in uploading or augmenting themselves so much as they are interested in controlling others.
I think they believe they are on the cusp of technological breakthroughs that will allow them to live forever & that they need to kill huge portions of the population in order for the earth to have room for the important people & their offspring who will live forever too.

I think the root of most destructive behavior is a deep sort of hatred of life & the success of others. Soros is the easy one because he was actually trained by Nazis as a child & made to raid the homes of jewish families (and he said it was the best times of his life). So the abuse there is completely obvious. Supposedly Gates's father was a eugenicist & Gates just looks like someone who was picked on in school. I don't think they are actually short sighted people, they play long games in their destructive efforts.

Transhumanism is a big umbrella term.
Effective accelerationists are in part transhumanists, but they reject all the anti-human nonsense of the Left.
It looks more facist to me. I also think most people have been brainwashed to believe that means one dictator like Hitler, but our system is one where people are expected to vote for either the blue facist or the red facist.

Trump did not participate on Republican debates and Biden refused to debate Kennedy.
In my opinion, the Republic fell in 2015, when the Obama was not permitted to choose a Supreme court judge. That was the first time I realized our form of government does not work how I was taught it worked at least.
The only real difference between fascism, socialism, & communism are in the superficial classifications of the people & institutions that are in control. They all produce the same sort of evil authoritarian results.
All different flavors of socialism, which in essence is just collectivism.
