I've just learned that Mozilla is sunsetting Pocket.

For those who avidly read and like to bookmark articles and miscellaneous links to read later, Pocket was one of the most popular.

What should I switch to now? Instapaper? Self-host Wallabag?

Bonus points if any services & apps integrate well with a Kobo ebook reader, Moaan Inkpalm, and/or the Boox Palma.

I’m building https://contex.st which also connects to Nostr

That looks promising! I hope they'll make an Android release, so that I can read content on my phone and ebook readers!

My bad. I missed the part about *you* building that, npub13tkusutqsx0yjr9szc4vhkxf5fkhne3aka84kxm9jwgp9yj20uzsnyllwf!

Any plans to release an Android app in the near future?

I do hope an android version is eventually built. In the mean time I am concentrating on UX and native iOS.

Didn't even know about this, sounds useful.

What did he build? Got a link?

I've forgotten the name now. It was like lamp or spotlight or torch

Lantern? I'll see if I can find it lol

I won’t miss wokezilla‘s bookmark app.

Just read the stuff right away and use pdf for what you wanna keep after you read it.

PDFing everything and syncing it between 2-3 devices besides my laptop sounds like a lot of work. That's why I was thinking of something like Wallabag.

I see. I mean it’s doable.

Do you actually read it though? I found I’m not so I switched. Just a few pdf and a cloud drive turned out to be sufficient for me but it’s a very individual topic.

Everyone has different needs in how to process information of course. There is a lot of services and open source solutions out there.

Good old instapaper maybe?

If I'm being honest, I don't get to *every* article that I bookmark. However, I do try to get through quite a few, so I still find that style of service helpful.

Instapaper? Haven't thought of that in at least 5-6 years, sometime before the lockdowns. Might have to go see if they're still around! Thanks for the pointer.

I became curious and found this. Maybe a helpful list too: https://openalternative.co/alternatives/pocket

Pocket is the first thing I used to disable on Firefox. Good riddance.
