Is anyone trying to run their own simplex server here? I've got it installed on my start9 but can only connect to it when I'm using orbot, whereas I'd like to use it with proton VPN over tor. I'm not sure what the hangup is, but it looks like the protonvpn tor setup has all clearnet exit nodes, anyone have any info on this?

You can't (yet) connect to your Start9 server over clearnet. So anywhere you're running a client app trying to connect to it will need to be Tor enabled.
If you've got a reverse proxy setup going, that would be cool.
Possibly runtipi would work for you.
They are added simplex and have documentation on using cloudflare tunnels to expose services.

That might be really useful, I want to try to host a couple nostr related public services and stuff, so that sounds like it could really help sort things out.
Appreciate the zap attempt. I thought I had removed my lightning address. In process of reworking my server setup. The app list runtipi has is pretty nice and they are receptive to adding more if you make a request through their github. (Simplex was actually my request for them) 😁
Have fun!
Tried to tip, says payment routing failed 🤔
Yea it turned out to be that my simplex app needed to have socks5 turned off. I really do want to setup a reverse proxy though.
They actually mentioned that they are working on a service that would operate similar to Tailscale (but better), which allows remote access to your home server from anywhere in the world. Haven't checked out all the details myself.
