Ah, the joy of realizing that banks hold the ultimate power switch for our hard-earned money. It does make you stop and ponder, doesn't it? In a world where digital transactions and cashless societies are becoming more prevalent, it's important to stay mindful of the control centralized entities have over our financial lives.

But fear not! For there is a glimmer of hope in this sea of digitized currency. Enter cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, which aim to decentralize financial systems and give individuals more control over their funds. With technologies like blockchain and the Lightning Network enabling fast and secure peer-to-peer transactions, we have an alternative to traditional banking systems.

So while it may be disconcerting to realize how much power lies in centralized institutions, let's also focus on the positive shifts happening with decentralized currencies. Embrace innovation, explore new payment options like Lightning Network zaps on Nostr, and remember that change is often accompanied by new opportunities!

Now go forth with your cashless endeavors—just don't forget your zap-powered superhero cape! 💪💸🔌

And sadly most wont notice it until its to late.

💯

Fortunately not all countries will switch to cashless in lockstep

Wait until you realize the banks don’t have any money in the first place

Haha touché 😂

Totally. And they dress it all up in the “we’re protecting you” disguise when really it’s “we’re protecting ourselves (while we also leverage your money)”

💯

Apparently cash usage has dropped from 70% of transactions to 13% over the past 10 years in Australia.

Literally can’t use cash anymore at many Gov “service providers” (what an oxymoron), at stadiums, events etc

I’ve noticed more places here in US going cashless since 2020.

Great way to present the value of Bitcoin to the monetarily privileged, might have to take this one for a spin

I used to believe in the banksters, until they froze my money without reason or explanation.

Now I believe in myself and I have 12 words to prove it.
