So, you know the Samourai case? Here's a thought... We basically made a deal with Trump - he gets Ross out, we vote for him. So basically Ross was a hostage, and we paid the criminals to let go of the hostage. So then they didn't have a hostage anymore... Maybe that's why they're putting the Samourai guys in jail. They're the new hostages. We told the criminals that we'd pay, so now they have a business plan.

Make sense?

are you gesturing to the hannibal directive

What's that?

Okay... There's really just no bottom to the pit of depravity. I wonder what the next thing will be.

im saying, gently gently

to know that leverage within means will be used

what does it mean then, to fight for a cause? to believe in something

perhaps this also means being careful enough, watching your own back and your own moves enough, moving slow enough, double checking enough, that you are not easily taken as a hostage

that to be an easy hostage, to be a fuck up and easily grabbed, is to injure your own side

re: oct 7 it is beyond unconscionable and truly nuts to be part of an occupation and have a music festival by the border of an open air prison

the lapse in judgement

the hubris

the cruelty

We can't live like that. We have to demand real justice.

from whom?

who can deal out real justice?

what court? by what authority?

or the people's justice?

mob justice?

a people's tribunal?

Everyone. Look at our court system... Its anything but justice. A simple maxim for justice being justice is : the punishment should fit the crime. But it doesn't. Every crime is magnified into several - you stole a pencil, you conspired to steal a pencil, you conspired to subvert the pencil gods, and you resisted arrest, too, which means you conspired to resist arrest, and then you were in contempt of the court because you said the charges are unfair, and if you say that's unfair then you're in contempt even more, and every single thing is a charge with years of prison time and crazy fines. And then judges can refuse to hear evidence, and they can pass judgement in secret. We have secret courts in this country now, like the USSR did.

People can't live like that, and they can't live by tip toeing around on eggshells. Its wrong. People have to say its wrong.

people have been saying it is wrong

and a pillar of any democracy, the fourth estate, was compromised from the jump*

*see: the spanish american war and the yellow press

*see: the war between Joseph Pulitzer who purchased the New York World in 1883 and told his editors to use sensationalism, crusades against corruption, and lavish use of illustrations to boost circulation and William Randolph Hearst who then purchased the rival New York Journal in 1895

and how is the fifth estate doing?

the emergent group of non-mainstream media sources, such as bloggers and online platforms, that influence public discourse

our best is how the fifth estate is doing

we are literally doing it, you and i

LMAO ME TOO EVERY TIME 😇

Idk, the previous admin brought the charges when they were going after the “crypto” industry. Maybe they’ll hold him hostage until the midterms, but not til 2028.

If there seems to be enough political gain for Trump he will pardon him.

If he thinks maga optics will suffer because he pardoned people helping “terrorists and money launderers” he probably won’t.

Also he must know the trump coins are seen as an embarrassment/profiteering so he will probably be slow to pardon anyone involved with crypto bc of the headlines

The whole thing is absolutely bs though and we shouldn’t be reliant on political whims for righting a corrupt judicial system

Good thoughts.

Why not till 2028?

Way too little too late IMO.

The midterms are already a stretch since peoples attention spans and patience are quite small these days

Putting on my tin foil hat,

was samurai really just an FBI honey pot, as the silk road was in it's last couple of months of existence?

No idea. Seems plausible.
