When I was on Twitter earlier, I followed this Asian looking American giving carnivore tips and tricks, supposedly doing “experiments” on his and other kids.

This experiment was about their choice of food when given the absolute freedom.

Obviously claiming children will give absolute priority to meat then second will be sweet fruits for some and vegetable table will stay untouched.

I have 3yo and 1 and 1/4 yo and now I see.

If given the chance, they go for beef - even raw. They love eggs. Sometimes they want some fruits (bananas, and/or apples, pears and sometimes grapes), younger one loves tomatoes and that’s basically it.

If given the chance, they’d don’t want anything else. Good thing is I now believe they don’t NEED anything else, which is a relief for me.

They even outright refuse to eat bread. They are willing to eat pasta on the other hand.

Do you have simmilar expiriences?

What about cheese? I see some crazy little cheese monsters around the family table.

Kids are not stupid, they are kids. If there is lollies around they will get some but other foods also.

Mixed experience here.

Two kids wastly different in everything including tastes.

One generally prefers steaks, bacon etc., occasional apple.

Other goes for pasta, eggs, loves bananas, hates steaks but will go for bacon or hot dog.

But both likes bread, and definitely will go crazy for sweets, ice cream especially the colored ones.

But seeing this I believe if they would have choice of only "natural" sources (and I don't mean modern fruit) they would prefer mostly meat, egg and some pasta/bread.

Issue is modern food everywhere around them.

My daughter has shocked people at her appetite and preference for red meat, as she guzzled roast beef down while pushing away everything else. But eggs, meat, and sourkraut were the first solid foods given. She shows enthusiastic love for beef, lamb, chicken, and pork. Sometimes fish like sardines. But she also loves bananas now. She loves tomato and cucumber from the garden, and still loves sourkraut. My son, on the other hand, was incorrectly (by myself -before I learned better) introduced to the typical grains and fruit and sweets way too young, and has taken A LOT of consistent work trying to right the wrong and shift toward just even a more typical american intake of meats. I have learned to start early with good foods consistently first..don't give "baby food" and snacks and all that garbage from the store. Meat and eggs, then go from there.

I have a 1yo 9m and she LOVES red meat (this was her first food), rice, cheese and bananas
